Regina Anne Chell is a healthcare industry subject matter expert
with 28 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She is well
versed in the patient, business and regulatory challenges within
the industry. Her expertise originates from direct experience in
patient care, healthcare administration and operations, and HIPAA
compliance work.
As charge nurse of a large metropolitan emergency department, she
participated in a joint taskforce to design the first chest pain
center in the nation. She is also an experienced negotiator with
third party players and has successfully expanded insurance coverage
of healthcare services for heart disease. As program director of
cardiac rehabilitation & coordinator of preventive cardiology,
she instituted a HIPAA compliant paperless system for management
of patient healthcare records. She also helped develop electronic
order entry for patients. She frequently consults, as a subject
matter expert on the production of healthcare education videos.
Ms Chell chairs a group of practitioners that are developing a
state of the art disease management clinic. She is also a member
of the Political Advisory Committee (PAC), American Association
of Cardiovascular Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) & Maryland
Association of Cardiovascular Pulmonary Rehabilitation (MACVPR).
PAC is a collaborative group of physicians, nurses & elected
officials, working to identify needs and facilitate change; a few
areas of focus have been medical liability & litigation and
management and healthcare for uninsured & underinsured. The
AACVPR & MACVPR work on a national and state level to support
programs designed to reduce morbidity, mortality and disability
from cardiovascular pulmonary disease.
